Karen, a Realtor since 1977, has made more than 500 sales valued at more than 100 million dollars.

LaChance, who is consistently one of the agency's top producers, began her career selling and leasing commercial real estate for Bill Stone Realty in Framingham and joined Dallamora Real Estate in 1979, where she formed the company's commercial division. She became a partner with Commercial Real Estate Consultants (CREC) in Ashland in 1985 and left to form the LaChance Company in 1987. Shifting her focus to residential real estate, she joined ERA John Nelson Real Estate in 1990 now known as ERA Key Realty Services.

Selected from more than 8000 agents, she was named Realtor of the Year by the Greater Boston Real Estate Board in 1993. She is a Certified Residential Specialist (CRS) and Graduate, Realtors Institute (GRI). Presently, serving on the MAR Board of Realtors, she is a past Boston Regional Vice President of the Massachusetts Association of Realtors and a former Vice Chair of the Commercial Investment Division. She served a 3-year term as a Director of the National Association of Realtors and as past President of the Greater Boston Real Estate Board's Residential Association of Realtors (RAR). She was an elected member of the Framingham Board of Library Trustees for 30 years. She received a special Recognition Award from the Framingham Public Library and a proclamation from the State Legislature and Board of Selectmen in May 2006 for her outstanding service. She also participates on the Board of Directors of the Friends of the Framingham Heart Study and serves as President.
